Taliban fighters ambush U.S. troops in the open during a patrol in Afghanistan. The battery died on the helmet cam when the video ended. The weapon stoppages that appear in the video are very common in a dusty environment like Afghanistan. There were no American casualties.
This is a short video of first few minutes of one of our firefights in Afghanistan. We were crossing an open field when a RPG/PKM Taliban fire team engaged us from about 200 meters away. The initial shot was a RPG that landed about 10 meters away from Alpha team but did not explode and bounced over the file of soldiers. From that point a Taliban PKM gunner engaged us with about 200 rounds. No US soldiers were injured during this engagement. (Not shown in video) After about 15 minutes of trading rounds the Taliban ran away.
A firefight between members of the 30th Infantry Regiment, Special Operations, Afghan Local Police and Taliban in the village of Zombalay Afghanistan, is captured on 2 separate helmet cams.
Video is from this summer in Afg. Men depicted are from the 82nd Airborne. Footage is taken from 4 hi-def helmet cams throughout the platoon. None of the paratroopers in the video were injured. The Video was put together by one of my soldiers as a tribute to the Platoon and their expirerencs.
This is a video of Fury Platoon, 4-4 CAV attached to 3rd Brigade, 10th MTN in Zharay District, Kandahar Province (RC South), Afghanistan.
The video footage is shot over the course of a three day period in the seize of Taliban territory for the purpose of providing security to the local nationals inhabiting Zharay District. This operation took place near the village of Siah Choy (an extremely deadly location that few Americans/Coalition Forces have ever seen). A couple weeks later a new tactical infrastructure was placed at the epicenter of this Taliban ratline that eventually leads straight to Kandahar City.
